“Net 30” means the invoice is due 30 calendar days after the invoice date. It’s the corporate default in the US and most of the English-speaking world. Net 15, Net 60, and Net 90 work the same way with 15, 60, and 90 days.
If the calculated due date lands on a weekend or US federal holiday, the standard convention is to shift it to the next business day. Note this in the invoice terms so the client doesn’t claim confusion.
Use our invoice generator — enter the invoice date and the calculated due date, and it will print cleanly on all 5 professional templates. If payment is missed, plug the same numbers into our late payment calculator to figure out interest owed.
